# Cannot add subtask to subtask

Hello everyone,
I am currently using the old Toggl, but I was excited to try Toggl 2.0 after reading the article **[Toggl 2.0 Subtasks](https://community.toggl.com/t/toggl-2-0-subtasks/1983)** which claims that you can add up to five levels of subtask. I am already using another free tool that can accomplish this, but the thought of consolidating my workflow inside Toggl seemed promising.
However, after trying for around half an hour, I seem to be unable to add a subtask to a subtask. I am only able to add a subtask to a task. I tried to do this on both my Windows PC and iPhone. I was wondering if this feature had been changed or if I was doing something wrong.
I have the free plan if that matters.

Hi @Dussodjomo 👋 Thanks for posting!
You weren’t doing anything wrong, you were working from outdated information, and I’m sorry for the half hour you spent on it.
Subtask nesting was capped at one level back in May, and existing deeper chains were flattened up under their top-level parent. The post you referenced still says five levels deep. That’s outdated and we’ll correct it.
And to clear up the automated reply posted previously: this has nothing to do with being on the free plan.
So the workflow you were hoping to consolidate isn’t possible in Toggl 2.0 as it stands. Sorry to give you that answer after you’d already put the time in.
