Helpful tips for encouraging your team to regularly track their time.

Getting new habits to stick may be quite a task – especially if you need to convince someone else to do something. Here are a few tips and tricks from us to help your team get toggling!

# Communicate

The key to all teamwork is communication, so be transparent and honest about the importance of time tracking and especially **why** time tracking is needed. Please explain how the entire team can **benefit** from tracking their time.

# Time tracking reminders

We all have moments when we _forget_ to start tracking – especially when time tracking is something new! Luckily there are **tracking reminders** in both [the Toggl Track desktop](https://www.toggl.com/track/toggl-desktop/) and our browser extension for [Chrome](https://support.toggl.com/en/articles/2206984-toggl-track-browser-extension). These reminders can get very annoying, but they do work!

# Available on all platforms

Your team doesn’t have to be nailed to a browser tab to track time. Toggl Track is also available as a [desktop application](https://www.toggl.com/track/toggl-desktop/) and on mobile for [iOS](https://www.toggl.com/track/mobile-time-tracking-app/) and [Android](https://www.toggl.com/track/mobile-time-tracking-app/). Each team member can use whichever app suits them best. All your time entries will always be synced to the server. The specific app they are using doesn’t matter.

#

Idle time tracker

Just like forgetting to turn _on_ the timer can be a problem, so does forgetting to turn it _off_. If your colleagues are constantly editing entries that have been left running for too long, suggest they turn on the Idle tracker feature. It’s available in the Toggl Track browser extension and Toggl Track desktop.

I can’t find the reminders setting on the web app or the Android app. Has this feature been removed? Or more likely, I am just not looking in the right spot. Any help would be awesome!

Hi Amy! Are you looking for team reminders, or just reminders for your own tracking?

Both actually. I’d love to know if it’s available for both situations and how to access it. I was trying to look for both but I couldn’t figure it out. Thanks for the help!

Hit the gear icon in the app to go into Settings, then scroll down. There’s a section with a variety of Notification options near the bottom.
