Inactive Workspace and Report Limit Reached but just started started

Which product is this about?

Toggl Track

On Toggl Track from the very moment I created an account there was a banner saying that “Your inactive workspace “Workspace” will be deleted soon!” and that “You’ve reached your report view limit for this period”. Whats this all about.

I can’t even really play around with the features of this product.

These two messages can be a bit alarming when you see them right after signing up, so here’s what they likely mean:

The “inactive workspace” warning typically appears when a workspace has had no time tracking activity for an extended period. Since your account is brand new, this could be a timing quirk or the workspace may have been created slightly earlier (for example, if you started a sign-up process but didn’t complete it right away). The simplest fix is to log a time entry, which should register the workspace as active.

The “report view limit reached” message is related to Toggl Track’s Free plan, which has a limit on how far back you can view data in reports. On the Free plan, you can only see reports for the past 5 years, but more relevantly, there is a limit on the number of report views per period.

A good first step is to simply start tracking some time. Creating a time entry should help establish your workspace as active. If the report limit message continues to block you from exploring the product, upgrading to a paid plan (Starter, Premium, or Enterprise) would remove those restrictions.

It is an unusual experience to run into these messages immediately on a fresh account, and it may be worth double-checking whether a workspace was already associated with your email address from a previous sign-up attempt.
