Make Toggl Work More User-Friendly for Entering Expenses

Requests, related specifically to “Personal Vehicle Mileage” but also can be applied generally.

I am a freelance consultant and short-term rental property owner who migrated from Harvest and am struggling but hope to help make it work.

These relate to Toggl work and would eliminate hours over the course of the year if addressed based on my volume of entries.

  1. Admins should be able to pick if “Description” is required account-wide or by category. It is required now and not needed on basic expenses.
  2. Let Admins pick if “country” is needed, and if needed by category. Having to pick country for every personal vehicle mileage entry is unnecessary and time-consuming.
  3. Let Admins pick if “supplier” is needed, and if needed by category. Having to pick a supplier for every personal vehicle mileage entry is unnecessary and time-consuming.
  4. In the “personal vehicle” category, ask for miles and then calculate the expense based on the account settings the admin controls.
  5. Personalize frequent selections: Move recent/frequently used values to the top of drop downs. Having to scroll down to “United States of American” on 100% of my expense entries is annoying.
  6. Allow expenses to go straight to submit status instead of draft status when pressing “create” or “create and add another”
  7. Allow admin to select if "Is this a travel expense?" is required or not (currently not required for some reason)
  8. If you won’t do the above, at least allow copy/clone of previous expense and changing values.

These are great ideas, and it is clear you have thought through them carefully based on real workflow needs. However, the level of customization you are describing, such as making fields like Description, Country, and Supplier optional or category-specific, auto-calculating mileage reimbursement, surfacing frequent selections at the top of dropdowns, skipping draft status on creation, and cloning previous expenses, is not currently available in Toggl Track.

I will make sure to share all of this feedback with the product team, as it reflects the kind of detail that is genuinely useful for improving the experience.
