I have used Toggl for many years and fear I will not be able to use Toggl anymore after change to 2.0.

I only use the simplest features, and my use is kind of strange - I start my time tracking, and I do not know exactly what I will be doing yet, so I need to be able to start my timer. This works fine. Next is that I find myself working on what I did yesterday. In 1.0 it shows a drop-down of similar entries - it is important for me to name the entries the same. In 2.0 it does not suggest anything.

Furthermore, in 1.0 I could tab over to the project and do the same. No mouse clicks. Start typing, and I can select project. In 2.0 I have to tab twice, press space to select the button, and then search.

i hope that this basic functionality could stay the same so that we who love 1.0 can keep using the same features. I love many of the new views and features, but the basic simplicity of 1.0 I am missing so much that I have gone back to 1.0 (and hope the same basic features will come in 2.0).

The major one for me is OFFLINE. Toggl 1.0 app was offline and could sync up when connected, Toggl 2 won’t even load anything if you are offline.

I second that. I actually thought it was a bug that caused [Autocomplete not triggered systematically](https://community.toggl.com/t/autocomplete-not-triggered-systematically/5121) .

I also use the simplest features. And there are _several_ things missing in Toggl 2.0. Really simple things that made my time tracking easier to manage.

- I often need to step away from my computer. When I return, the idle time popup is missing the “Discard and continue” button. I used that button in 1.0 _a lot_—possibly my favourite feature. I loved the single click to resume what I was doing after a distraction. With 2.0, I have to open the main window and restart the timer.

- In 1.0, a start button would appear next to a task when I hovered over it, making it a simple, single click to start the timer for that task. In 2.0, I have to click the task before the start button appears.

- In 1.0, I could hover over the Toggl icon in the Windows System tray to see the total time I had worked that day. In 2.0, it only shows me how long the current task has been running. That’s probably going to be useful, but I miss the day total.

- Sometimes I forget to start the timer, and sometimes I forget to stop it, so I need to know whether it’s running or not. With 1.0, a quick glance at the Windows system tray would immediately answer the question—pink = running, gray = stopped. The 2.0 icon is always pink.

I know the result of these can be achieved in various ways in 2.0, but the convenience of how easy it was to get them done in 1.0 is the whole point of why I use Toggl at all—time keeping is tedious and so it _has_ to be easy, lest I slowly stop caring and drift into the dreaded track-by-vibe wasteland of doom!!

Going back to Toggl Track for now. It feels smooth!

Wow. Thanks for pointing this out. I didn’t use offline every day. But there are long stretches when did use Toggl Track (1.0, OG Toggl, or whatever they are calling it) in offline mode. I visit client sites where I am offline, and sometimes I work in remote areas where cellular is my data connection, when I need it.

I wonder if there is any plan to bring back offline. Sure would be nice to know this.
