### Which product is this about?

Toggl Track

### Topic content

Hello!
I live in BC Canada. We are in the PT timzone, however, we do not switch our clocks. This means that my Toggle is out of sync with my computer and I am constantly getting messages about it; there is no location timezone match for me. It also means the start/end times for my Toggl are often wrong. Please add ability to choose nearest big-city location. Thanks!

That’s a frustrating situation, and you’re not alone in running into timezone edge cases like this.

Toggl Track’s timezone settings let you choose a timezone from a standard list, but that list is based on IANA timezone identifiers, which means locations that don’t observe daylight saving time may not have a dedicated entry that matches exactly. For British Columbia outside of standard DST switching, the closest practical workaround is to manually set your timezone in your Toggl Track profile settings (accessible from the Profile icon in the lower-left corner of the app) and update it seasonally when the offset between your local time and the listed zone shifts.

You can reach your profile and timezone settings from the Profile icon in the lower-left corner of the Toggl Track toolbar.

As for the “timezone mismatch” notifications, those are triggered when Toggl Track detects a difference between your browser/device timezone and your account setting. Since your device will follow the system clock (which may automatically adjust for DST even if your region doesn’t), those mismatches will keep appearing unless you keep the two in sync manually.

The ability to choose a custom UTC offset or a city-level timezone that reflects your actual situation is a good idea, and I’ll pass this feedback along to the product team.
