Tags not reporting correctly in Analytics

This one is a bit hard to explain . . .

I track my time by project and a tag for the kind of work I’m doing. I run a daily report in Analytics that groups my time by tag, then project. This has worked well for several years, but in the last month or so, edits I make to tags on time entries aren’t reflected in the report immediately. I’ve tried forcing a sync in the desktop timer, and the individual time entries appear to sync correctly with the list in the web portal. The problem only shows up when I try to report on tags—other reports are fine.

This used to clear up if I gave the website a few minutes, but that is no longer happening. I tried editing the report and got an error message, so I recreated it, but I’m still seeing the same behavior.

  • I’m guessing my tags database has been corrupted somehow–is there any way to fix that?
  • Has anyone seen a similar issue?
  • Is there any way to run database maintenance on my account?

Thanks–it’s been working fine for about 18 months and just started giving me problems two or three weeks ago. FWIW, I’m in IT support, and I’m happy to help debug this.

I am having the same problem! I can see that I have multiple items tagged when I go into the day report, but it is not pulling them for a report by tag. This is a major problem for me. I have all of my clients set up as tags and I pull my invoices based upon these tags. Please advise ASAP. Thank you!

PS - I have found that if I go in and find the item in the timer interface and go back and resave it, it will show up in the report, but somehow the report is not pulling tags unless they are re-saved. This is not workable! I have hundreds of entries and don’t always know what I have done on a project, which is obviously the reason for the reports. Any solutions would be GREATLY appreciated.

My reports appear to be running correctly now, with the exception that I am unable to edit my original. That is easy to recreate.

It’s happened again. I’ve gone in to do my end of month reporting for invoicing and the tags aren’t updating correctly.

I am getting ready to invoices for May. Is this fixed? Please advise. I have been using tags to create detailed reports for years now…and when I last tried to use it, everything was not pulled. You said you would get back to me when this was fixed and that was several weeks ago. Can you please share an update? Is there something I now need to do differently now that the reporting structure has changed?

@Jennifer_Hayslett the issue should be resolved. If you are still having trouble, would you mind trying to disable the beta program and try with the “old” reports to see if that works better? You can disable the beta from the profile page, at the bottom of the page.: Toggl Track
