So, I really like a lot of the features in 2.0, the application client allows me to do a lot more inside it than I can do in Toggl Track. However, there’s one thing that is preventing me from moving completely over to the new platform, and that’s the more limited reporting.
Maybe my use case is different than others, but I use the time tracking features as a solo employee to be able to track all of my weekly time, but then at the beginning of the next week, I have a time sheet report that I use to enter my time into our instance of ServiceNow. In Toggl Track, I was able to create a dashboard that I am able to get the information I need but I can’t seem to duplicate it in Toggl 2.0. What I’m after sits between the Summary report and the Time Logs report in Toggl 2.0, where I need to see a week’s worth of time logs, but I need to have them grouped by project, task, and date.
That’s a great use case, and I can see why the current reporting options in Toggl 2.0 don’t quite hit the mark for your weekly timesheet workflow. Unfortunately, the ability to create a custom grouped view showing time logs broken down by project, task, and date simultaneously - like the dashboard you’ve built in Toggl Track - is not currently available in Toggl 2.0’s reporting.
I’ll make sure to pass this feedback along to the product team, as it’s a genuinely useful reporting configuration, especially for people who need to translate tracked time into external timesheets.
In the meantime, one thing worth noting is that if you keep Toggl Track running alongside Toggl 2.0, live sync can keep your time entries, projects, tasks, and clients in sync between the two platforms continuously. That means you could continue logging time in whichever app you prefer and still access the more flexible reporting dashboards in Toggl Track for your weekly timesheet needs, without having to manually maintain data in both places. You can read more about how live sync works at Live sync between Toggl Track and Toggl 2.0.
