Toggl Plan is levelling up into Toggl Focus, and will be gradually replaced by it. We’re building Toggl Focus to improve your planning experience, keeping everything you love and adding more flexibility and built-in time tracking to ground your plans in reality.
There are two ways Toggl Focus becomes your primary tool: you either select “Make it your default tool” or you’re automatically redirected on the specified date.
Choose Toggl Focus as your default planning tool to seamlessly continue your workflow - solo or with your team - in the new, upgraded planner.

Here are the key things to know
1. What happens when you switch?

If you’re working solo, after switching, you’ll be directed to Toggl Focus in both cases — whether you visit Toggl Focus or Toggl Plan. If you haven’t yet, import your Toggl Plan data to continue right where you left off.

If you work in a team, once you set Toggl Focus as your default planner, your entire team will be redirected to Toggl Focus when they log in to Toggl Plan.

2. Who in the organization can make Toggl Focus the default planner?
Only admins can set Toggl Focus as the default tool, and this change affects all users in the organization.
3. Can I try Toggl Focus without making it the default planner?
Yes, you can try out Toggl Focus without setting it as your default tool. While Toggl Plan will eventually be replaced by Toggl Focus, it will remain available for a while to ensure everyone can transition smoothly and without disrupting their workflows.
4. What happens if we don’t switch?
Toggl Plan will remain available for the time being, but will ultimately be replaced by Toggl Focus. Trying Toggl Focus out now means you get access to extra functionality like built-in time tracking, and can provide feedback so the product matches your needs.
5. What if I want to switch back to Toggl Plan?
If you’ve set Toggl Focus as your default planning tool, you can switch back to Toggl Plan by opening Tool settings → Toggl Focus Preferences and Settings.

If you’re working solo, you will be directed to Toggl Plan automatically when logging in.

If you work in a team, once you set Toggl Plan back to being your default planner, your entire team will be directed to Toggl Plan.
You can move back to having Toggl Focus as your default planning tool when you’re ready.
6. Will switching to Toggl Focus cost extra?
No extra costs. Your access to features and price point will remain the same as they are in Toggl Plan. If you’d like to upgrade to unlock even more value, you’ll have the option to do so after Dec 1, 2025. You’ll also enjoy full access to all features available in Toggl Focus until Dec 1, 2025.
7. How do I import my or my team’s data?
Toggl Plan owners can bring all data from Toggl Plan by following the instructions here.
