Autotrack windows file explorer

Hi. I’ve tried out a few different time tracking apps, ended up with Toggl though some basic features are missing. Is there any way to track time spent handling files in windows file explorer?

Best regards, Jonas

Anyone? I can’t be the only one urging for this function?
Other time tracking apps have it..

Hi @Jonas sorry for the radio silence here

Have you tried the Autotracker feature in the Track desktop app for :window:? You can set up keywords matching window titles that would trigger the autotracker feature to start a timer when you open a specific file if the name of the file is reflected in the app window.

Hi @Veljko! No worries
Of course, I use it daily, though it doesn’t work on the native windows file explorer app, hence the question.. . Can you see the attached gif? When trying to drag/drop the auto tracker the additional text below the marker disappears when hovering over file explorer..

Thanks for sharing that. I can see the GIF and will consult the Win team on our end. I’ll share an update or a suggestion for a workaround as soon as I get some feedback.

Does it help if you manually create a keyword, @Jonas, instead of using the target icon feature?
