Hi there,
We’re currently testing Toggl Focus after migrating from Toggl Plan, while still using Toggl Track for time tracking and reporting.
One key feature for us in Track is the ability to manage billable rates and costs with granular visibility controls (e.g. different rates per user/project, and restricting who can see them depending on role).
We’d like to understand:
Does Toggl Focus currently support role-based visibility for billable rates and costs?
Is there (or will there be) support for more granular rate structures (e.g. per user in project, task-level, etc.)?
Is this functionality on the roadmap?
This is quite important for our decision on whether to fully adopt Focus after the trial period.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the question. Based on the knowledge base available to me, I don’t have specific information about billable rates functionality and role-based visibility controls in Toggl Focus at this time.
Since you’re coming from Toggl Track where you’re using granular billable rate management with visibility controls, this is definitely an important feature set to evaluate. I’d recommend checking the current Toggl Focus feature documentation or your trial experience to see what rate management capabilities are available.
That said, it sounds like you have a specific set of requirements around role-based visibility and granular rate structures. This kind of detailed feedback about what you need from Focus to make it work for your team is valuable input. I’ll make sure the product team hears that billable rates visibility and granular permission controls are important for your use case when considering Focus’s roadmap.
Hi again!
I just wanted to check in to see if there have been any updates since my original post.
First of all, I want to say we’re genuinely excited about Toggl Focus. We’ve been using Toggl Track for years, and Focus feels like a very promising direction. We’re actively trying to make it the central place for planning and project management across our studio.
That said, billable rates and role-based visibility remain one of the key blockers for us.
We manage projects with different internal costs and billable rates, and it’s important that this information is only visible to the appropriate roles. Without those permission controls, we can’t fully move our workflow into Focus.
Has the product team had a chance to discuss this feature? Even knowing whether it’s being considered or is somewhere on the roadmap would really help us plan our adoption.
Thanks again for all the work you’re doing on Focus—we’re looking forward to seeing how it evolves!
