Dears,
I’ve got an issue with Analytics (Charts) in the web app - I cannot display general activities (that are not converted to a certain time entry - see the time blocks in the blue frame on my screenshots attached.
I need to check/report also a general time spend when the Toggl was active, time blocks mentioned above, preferably in week view. But I need the chart to read such time blocks, so I don’t need to ‘Copy as time entry’ each block one by one each day.
How can I do that?
Considering that Toggl Track can be used with a team and you might add someone to your workspace, due to privacy concerns, we intentionally do not convert recorded activity to time entries, which would make them visible in reports.
This way, you are the only one who can see the recorded activity data. If it was converted to time entries automatically, potential members of your workspace might have access to reports depending on their role and could see your data. The reason we are careful about privacy here is that the Timeline feature records all activity on your device, anything you use for more than 10 seconds, which is why you must manually pick which events to turn into time entries at which point they show up in reports.
OK, got it (even though I use Toggl individually, without a team). Is there any way to export my timeline records (those automatic time blocks) to an external file, so I can create a chart, e.g. in Excel? or maybe automatic way to convert time records to some generic time entry like ‘General activity’?
Alternatively, is there any workaround for the goal I need to achieve?
Regards
There is a way to export your data from this page: Toggl Track
To have timeline data to export, you must have enabled “sync local activity” in calendar/timeline settings in the app first.
I’m afraid there are no workaround atm, the best approach is converting recorded activity to time entries manually but I’ll bring this up with the team.
