Improving Grouping and Sorting

Hello,

I have been using Focus for more some time now and wish to suggest a few improvements:

  1. ability to sort projects by date
  2. autosave last sorting method or last filter applied
  3. ability to group tasks and projects by month so it does not feel overwhelming (accordion)
  4. ability to sort favorites (drag and drop up and down)
  5. When closing a Project in a favorite Project view, we should go back to the favorite view, not the default Project view.
  6. In the default task view, clicking on a project could redirect to the project (used a lot) instead of suggesting to modify project (not used much).
  7. Ability to hide views

This is how grouping could look like:

Thank you for taking the time to read, I hope these features will be available in the future!

Cheers,

Ben

Thanks for sharing these detailed suggestions! These are great ideas for improving the organization and usability of Toggl Focus. Features like sorting projects by date, grouping tasks by month with accordion-style collapsing, maintaining your last sorting preferences, reordering favorites, and the other improvements you’ve outlined would definitely make the interface feel more intuitive and less overwhelming.

I can confirm that these specific features are not currently available in Toggl Focus. However, your feedback is valuable and I’ll make sure the product team sees these suggestions. The mockup you included is particularly helpful for visualizing how the monthly grouping could work.

In the meantime, you might find some workarounds useful, such as using favorites to organize your most-used projects and tasks, or using filters to narrow down what you’re viewing at any given time. But I understand these wouldn’t fully address the organizational improvements you’re looking for.
