I’m wondering if there has been any conversation in the road map for a “Start at” feature. Consider the following scenario:
- Start a timer for a task (i.e. Test Case 00045)
- The user is done doing their task (this test case example) and stops their timer
- User starts working on another task (another test execution) but forgets to start timer
At this point, once the user notices they forgot, it would be nice to have an option (a checkbox maybe?) that starts the new timer at the end time of the last successful timer that was stopped. This saves quite a few clicks to manually reconcile the gap and to capture that time easily.
This support doesn’t necessarily mean they have to “forget” starting a timer. Oftentimes, an emergent task pops up and the user immediately stops the current timer but would rather capture the information on their next task when they are done after the pivot. This way, the user can more comfortably and thoughtfully capture the information on the new task they were whisked away to. “Start at last stop”, fill out the information, then stop the timer. It might seem subtle but it makes capturing time much smoother and elegant. (I actually worked on a time tracking software solution for law firms and this feature was popular.)
