Hi Toggl community,
I’ve been using Toggl 2.0 for production tracking as a freelance animator and ran into two issues I’d love to see addressed:
1. CSV Export missing Description field
When exporting via Reports → Time Tracking → Export as CSV, the Description (the title I give each individual time entry in the timer window) is not included in the export. Only Task, Date, Duration, Project, and Member are exported. The Description is often the most granular and useful piece of data — it’s where I note what specifically I’m working on within a shot. Without it, the export is significantly less useful for external analysis.
Is there a way to include the Description field in the CSV export, or is this a known limitation? A workaround would also be appreciated.
2. Tags overwrite task history when phase changes
My workflow involves multiple phases per Task (e.g. Blocking → Blocking Feedback → Splining → Polish on a single shot). I’d like to tag each time entry with its current phase, but since tags in Toggl are applied at the Task level rather than the individual entry level, changing a tag mid-task overwrites the previous state retroactively.
This makes tags effectively unusable for phase tracking across a long-running task. Is per-entry tagging something on the roadmap, or is there a recommended workaround for this use case?
Thanks in advance!
