First of all, I want to say that the Mini Timer is a fantastic tool! It’s incredibly convenient for quickly starting and managing tasks without switching windows. However, I believe it could be even more powerful with a few enhancements.
Here are the features I’d love to see added or improved:
- Global Shortcut for Field Activation:
A system-wide shortcut to activate the “What are you working on?” field. This would make it much easier to start or edit tasks without needing to click on the field manually. - Text Selection for Running Tasks:
For ongoing tasks, it would be great if the global shortcut could focus on the current task’s text and allow it to be selected for quick editing. - Support for
@
and#
in Mini Timer:
It would be fantastic if the@
for projects and#
for tags worked directly within the Mini Timer, just like in the main window. Having to switch to the main app to use these features interrupts the workflow.
These additions would make the Mini Timer an even more robust tool for users who prefer to stay focused on their tasks without needing to constantly open the main Toggl Track window.
Thank you for considering this suggestion, and keep up the great work with Toggl Track!
