I need help getting the dark mode that was purple back

Hi Toggl team,
I previously had access to the “Dark Purple” theme in the Toggl Track web app — it was stored in localStorage under profile:xxxxx:theme with the value "dark-purple".

After switching themes recently, I can no longer see “Dark Purple” in the dropdown, and manually resetting the value in localStorage no longer restores it.

Could you let me know if this theme is still supported or if there’s a way to re-enable it for my account?

Hi Chris! At this time the themes available no longer include the “dark purple” theme.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I totally understand that the purple theme is no longer officially supported, but I’ve been using it for quite a while and it’s still active on one of my other machines — so I know the styles are still present in the CSS variables.

Would you be willing to do me a solid and share the command or method to re-enable it manually on this machine? Even if it’s unofficial or unsupported, I’d really appreciate being able to keep using it just for consistency.

Hi Chris, thank you for posting this issue, I also loved dark purple color calendar theme but recently it changed to monotonous black and white theme. I was trying to find a solution for this over the internet and then I finally stumbled upon this useful post.
Is there any way you found to change the theme back to dark purple? If yes, then please do tell me about it as well.

Please bring back the purple dark mode. It’s very disappointing to see it disappear. We used to have the option to switch between different dark themes, which was great for those who prefer a plain dark mode or the classic dark mode. Please bring it back!

Why would you remove one of the few features of your software that makes it stand out among others to make it look indistinguishable from everything else? Do you aspire simply to copy your competitors and nothing more? It is a terrible decision and a real shame.

Absolutely agree. The new themes are monotonous, sterile, and suck out any sort of lighthearted-ness that made Toggl enjoyable to use. Everything else about Toggl is still the iconic purple theme, but Toggl Track is not just another boring, soul-crushing tool.

Hi, i understand that there are only 2 options now? bright (almost blinding to my eyes) and black? the previous colors were much better as for eyes comfort. is there a chance that the theme colors will change soon? thanks.

I prefer the old themes as well, with the new dark mode and light modes there’s no difference between the week/calendar and the sidebar, they all look the same so I have a hard time figuring out which one to pick. Please change it back to the old version.
