I have another great suggestion🥳
I am doing client work and track the work I am doing. Most of the work is done without the client knowing about it (maintenance, updates, taking care of website + infrastructure in the background). I want to send the client a report every quarter (or maybe monthly). I even consider giving live access to a filtered report.
However, it’s difficult to describe what I did. The current very short description of an entry is not made for this.
I would be so cool to have a global setting where I can select the mode:
- simple mode (as it is right now)
- detailed mode
Even better, make it in a smart way without me having to pick a mode. Becaus when offering two modes you would need to do checks when a user switches the mode in the settings.
What is the detailed mode?
It brings up an additional field for each entry. Instead of having only this one line of text for the description it has a title (maybe up to 255 char) and a detailed description (without an actual limit).
Let’s say I am working on a problem on 4 different days. Every day I add a time entry. Every day I pick the very same entry, which has a title and a description.
Title: Fixing Weglot problems after updating plugin
Details: Here can go a more detailed description that explains to the client in the report what was going and and on top of that is helpful for myself. This way I can completely rely on Toggl as my single source. Everythign I did for the client will be logged in there in a way that I can understand an entire year even if I go over the report.
It’s incredibly powerful and gives options to use Toggl on a different level.
All because I am able to describe each entry in more detail.
This way I could have actually useful report. All automatic right out of Toggl.
