Notification sound when a session or break ENDS

Hello,

I’ve downloaded the Android app, and so far I love it, except for one thing. I can’t find a way to get a notification sound when a session or break ends. Without that I will routinely not realize that it’s time to stop or start working. I don’t want to keep having to pull my phone out of my pocket to see how much time is left. Is there a setting to enable this? Seems like it would be pretty straightforward, and it’s available in most of the other Pomodoro apps I’ve tried (including TickTick, which is what I have been using). I guess as a workaround I could use the automatically start setting, so I would get that sound, but that’s less than ideal for me.

Hi! Thanks for this feedback!

The workaround you mentioned is what I would suggest as well with the current settings that are available. Enabling auto start for breaks and sessions would give you the sound notification you need.

With that said, this is a great candidate for a feature request. Would you mind if I move your post Product Feedback ?

Hi!

Yeah the workaround works, but isn’t perfect because I’m not always ready to actually move on. This is further compounded by something else I just noticed, there’s no pause? Clicking “Stop” prompts me to end/skip the session. So I can’t set it to auto-start the next session and then pause that if I’m not actually ready to move on. Also, what if I need to use the bathroom, or take the dog out, or something? I don’t always want to skip, I just need to pause.

Maybe that would be a separate feature suggestion, but something I would also need to be able to migrate to this tool from TickTick.

Thanks!

That is correct; a running timer can only be stopped and continued afterward; pausing it is currently not an option. However, tracked Time Entries with similar details are grouped together in the list view on the Timer Page as far as visualizing time goes, but I do understand how that can interrupt a Pomodoro flow. There is a constant debate on what Pomodoro should be; based on the original idea, it should be about uninterrupted focus on a task for a period of time, but nowadays, it feels like workflows are hard to manage that way - we will try to bring improvements to our apps to allow deep focus in the future

All noted and shared with our product team! Thank you! :raised_hands:
