Question: Toggl → Zapier → Leave Dates integration (user identification)

Hi everyone,

I’m using Toggl Track for time logging. Employees also log overtime through a dedicated project called “Overtime.”
I want these overtime entries to be sent automatically to Leave Dates via Zapier, where they should appear as Draft Leave.

In the Toggl → Zapier trigger (New Time Entry), I receive the Uid of the user, but not their email address.
Since Leave Dates requires a user_id, I need a reliable way to map Toggl users to Leave Dates users.

My questions:

  • Is it possible to get the email address of the user in the “New Time Entry” Zapier trigger?

  • Or should I always rely on Uid and maintain a manual mapping between Toggl Uid and Leave Dates user_id?

Any advice or experiences would be very helpful :folded_hands:

Thanks!
Rachel

Heya Rachel! We’re unfamiliar with what Zapier can do with their zap setups so I’m not sure what they can do, so currently all I can recommend is to stick with the UID element. If it helps, however, you can use our API to quickly gather user emails and their corresponding UID from Toggl!
