Task Attachments

Add files to your tasks to keep all relevant information in one place. Whether it’s a design mockup, a PDF specification, or a screenshot of a bug, attachments help you stay organized and work more efficiently.

Where to Find It

Attachments are located in the Task Detail view. When you open any task, you’ll find the attachments section between the task description and subtasks.

To open a task:

File Limitations

Maximum File Size

  • 30 MB per file
  • Files exceeding this limit will show an error: “File exceeds 30MB limit”

Supported File Types

Category Formats
Images JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, WebP, HEIC, HEIF
Documents PDF

If you try to upload an unsupported file type, you’ll see the error: “File type not supported”

Note about HEIC/HEIF files: These Apple image formats can be uploaded and downloaded, but may not display a preview in the browser. You can still download them to view on your device.

Tips for Best Results

  1. Use descriptive filenames - Files retain their original names, so clear naming helps everyone understand what they’re looking at
  2. Compress large images - If you’re hitting the 30MB limit, consider compressing images before uploading
  3. Convert HEIC to JPEG - For better compatibility across browsers, convert Apple HEIC photos to JPEG before uploading
  4. Keep attachments relevant - Only attach files that are directly related to the task to keep things organized

Troubleshooting

“File exceeds 30MB limit”

The file you’re trying to upload is too large. Try compressing the file or splitting it into smaller parts.

“File type not supported”

Only image files (JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, WebP, HEIC, HEIF) and PDFs are supported. Convert your file to a supported format before uploading.

Image doesn’t show preview

Some image formats (especially HEIC/HEIF from Apple devices) may not display previews in all browsers. The file is still uploaded successfully and can be downloaded.

Can’t add attachments

Make sure the task is not archived. Archived tasks don’t allow adding or deleting attachments.
