Can't get my Toggl app to sync with Toggl Track

I’ve tried logging out of the app but it says I will lose all my data. I’ve synced it over and over and it still won’t show up on the Toggl Track. It always worked before not it’s not. I logged out of Toggl Track and it still is not syncing. What’s going on?

First, make sure you’re not losing data by logging out. When you log out of the Toggl app, any unsynced time entries should still be there when you log back in with the same account, as long as you use the same credentials.

  3. Restart the app completely

Thank you. This is helpful. I’ve done most of these but I will try the rest. I ended up having to export/import all my work since December. My fault for not noticing sooner.

I am using the desktop app and the web app on Windows 11 on a two-year-old.

It’s still not syncing.

Just to confirm: I am using Windows Desktop app to add my timings. I am using Toggl Track online to track all my hours.

Here is what I have done:

Exported/Imported all the data from the toggl app into the Toggl Track online.
Deleted the Toggl Windows desktop app
Turned off my computer
Downloaded the Toggl desktop app from your website
Logged into Toggl online
Added a timed project into Toggl desktop app
Manually synced toggl app
Not showing up in Toggl online

Yes, my internet is working.

I’m curious how you ever got it to sync with Toggl Track, or how you exported from Toggl into Toggl Track. I don’t see any options to do this (but maybe it’s possible in the desktop app, which I can’t get to work at all). I logged in with my existing Toggl Track account and expected it WOULD sync since it brought across my existing projects, but it doesn’t seem to. I’m also wondering if the support response above is a real person or AI, as some of the suggestions seem like they’re not based on knowledge of the actual app (e.g. “Force a manual sync in your app if that option is available”).
I have used Toggl Track for years and really want to like Toggl, but it’s proving to be very frustrating…

@AEChin Sorry to hear that! Just to confirm: the webapp is working without issue on the same computer? And are you on a work-based internet network?

@Bec_C same question: is the webapp working on the same computer OK? And when you log a time entry in the desktop app, does any red icon appear next to the entry?

Correct. The webapp works fine. It’s the desktop app, which also works fine, but does not sync with the webapp, even though I am logged into the desktop app with the same account as the webapp. This used to work great, and then suddenly a several months ago stopped syncing.

I have Verizon 4G for my Wi-Fi. It’s always up, no breaks. Everything else that is connected to it stays connected.

What I have done:

  • Deleted desktop app (Windows 11), downloaded from website, reinstalled fresh

  • Logged out of webapp, logged back in

  • Confirmed that both are logged into the same account.

  • Will not sync.

Thanks for that, Amy; do any unsynced entries in the app show up with red sync icons next to them? If so, can you share what message appears when you hover your cursor over the icon?

No. It seems like it’s syncing. No error messages. No, nothing when I hover. But it doesn’t get into the web app.
