It would be really helpful if Admins could archive or merge Tags in our workspace.
Archiving
Right now we can end up with a long list of Tags and if there are many similar tags (e.g., if we use Tags for different campaigns or promos) then these become outdated and users do not need to select them for active time-logging. However, having the data on the Reports side is still valuable for analysis. The only current option for cleaning up Tags is to delete them, which also means the Tag data is deleted (not the time entry itself though). So having the ability to archive Tags would be very helpful in this use-case.
Merging Tags
This would be helpful in order to allow Admins to merge similar Tags or multiple outdated Tags into fewer Tags, again helping with the problem of Tag sprawl over time.
Toggl Team, please consider these improvements for the future!
Adding a +1. I use tags to track billing categories, which can include time limited projects. Once a project is complete, I’d like to be able to archive the tag without deleting it, so it doesn’t clutter my list but remains for archival documentation.
+1 Being able to archive is important because I am tagging by ticket numbers which is great but the only option to clean is deletion which is problematic if you need to keep records for posterity.
