Hey Arash,
Great question! Toggl Track doesn’t currently support automatic sub-timers or parallel timers, but there are a few ways you can track interruptions depending on your workflow: Workarounds You Can Try:
1 Manual Sub-Timer Approach
Start your main task timer as usual.
When the interruption happens, start a new timer for the sub-task.
Once the sub-task ends, resume the main task (either from where you left off or by adding the interruption time, depending on your tracking preference).
2 Using Tags or Descriptions
Instead of creating a separate sub-task, you can tag or rename your time entry (e.g., “Task A – Interrupted by [Sub-task]“).
This keeps all time under one entry but still helps you track interruptions in reports.
I can see how a built-in sub-timer feature would be helpful! If this is something you’d love to see in Toggl Track, I can add it to our Feature Requests board—our team is always looking for ways to improve the experience.
Thanks for posting!
I made an account just to say that I would LOVE the ability to run parallel timers. There are times where I’m working with 2 clients, and I need the ability for multiple timers to be running at the same time, with one or both going on or off freely.
Example/User story:
I am working on a project for Client A where I am on site, and on call. I start timer A when I arrive and begin working. Midway through the day I have some free time, so I start doing some work on my laptop for Client B, start timer B, and begin working. Throughout the day, I need to be able to turn on and off timer B without turning off timer A.
I love your app and have been recommending it to people for years! Please develop this feature if possible
