I have been using Toggl Track on a daily basis for the last 2 years. The ease of assigning projects and tags and the Google calendar integration are both selling points. In particular, I love the feature of being able to create and use time entry URL links. This has made it possible for me to maintain a list of routine and commonly-used time entries, which I use everyday. I feel that this feature has dramatically reduced the time and effort necessary for me to track my time and to remain efficient.
While it remains available on the web app, I was disappointed to learn after contacting the Toggl support team on June 3rd that this feature was removed from the mobile apps. The Toggl team member I chatted with had explained that the decision to remove this functionality was part of intentional “simplification efforts”. Toggl’s AI chatbot Chronos had also cited an interest of app designers to limit the scope of the mobile apps’ functionality to solely direct time tracking whereas “more complicated” features such as use of time entry start links should only be accessible in the more robust web app.
I believe the ability to use URL start links within the mobile apps does greatly simplify the user’s experience. And given the greater innate limitations of data entry on a smartphone or tablet, I would argue that it might be even more important for this feature to be present in the mobile apps than in the web or desktop apps.
Finally, if the Toggl app design team is still not willing to restore the ability to create new URL start links in the mobile apps (i.e., “Generate start link”), would you be willing to restore the ability of the mobile apps to at least recognize previously-created start links?? Even just doing that would be a big help for me and I believe many other users as well

PS- In case it’s relevant, I use an iPhone 14 Pro Max that runs iOS 18.5 (22F76), and the current version of the Toggl Track iPhone app loaded on this device is 6.12.0 (2966).
