Heya, just got the Premium plan trial and I’m liking it so far.
I’m trying out the Rounding feature on the Reports page to then try out the Invoice system, but I can’t wrap my head around it.
I want it to be that any entry that is under 15 minutes long is rounded as 0 minutes, and any entry that is over 15 minutes long is rounded as 30 minutes, and the same thing repeating at 30 minutes, where if my entry is over 45 minutes it’s treated as 1 hour, otherwise it’s treated as 30 minutes.
For example:
If I have an entry that is 2h 14m 59s, I want it to say 2h 0m 00s.
If I have an entry that is 2h 15m 00s, I want it to say 2h 30m 00s.
If I have an entry that is 4h 46m 42s, I want it to say 5h 00m 00s.
I’m struggling to figure out how to make it work like that though lol, so all help is appreciated!
I think the main problem I’m facing is that since I have multiple time entries spread over different days, Toggl is rounding them ALL up/down to the values I’m experimenting with. I need to know how I can disable it from watching every single individual entry, and just look at the totals for the week.
You are looking for the “Apply to grouped entries” rounding feature that is currently only available in Analytics (not the Reports). When you create a table chart, there’s going to be a little gear at the top right, giving you rounding options.
However, are you subscribed as a Beta user? In the coming weeks, we are rolling out a new Beta version of reports, and you will be able to see this grouped rounding option in the Summary or Detailed reports
Hi @olivia, thank you so much for the reply. I went and checked the Analytics page and got the rounding to work exactly like you said, however the entire process seems very convoluted right now.
I’m hoping the new Beta Reports page makes it a LOT easier to note down the timings and generate invoices.
While you’re here, I’d like to ask a question related to billable rates:
Is there a way to add in a fixed rate project charge every week in my workspace? I see the option to do fixed rate projects, but it only bills that project per hour of work according to the rate of the workspace. I’d like to make it so that it always adds that fixed project rate to my Reports/Invoice regardless of if I do 0 hours of work or if I do 30 hours of work. Does that make sense?
Yes, the experience of all our reports got a bit confusing, hence the new Reports simplifying everything. Here’s the blog post if you want to read more about it
As for always attaching the fixed fee amount, your request makes sense, yes. Unfortunately, there’s no way to do that in Toggl Track. I’ll go ahead and document this request with the product team to be considered though, as it’s a really good and sensible idea.
