The Toggle integration with Jirachanged due to API usage policy changes
Since September 5th 2025, due to the API usage policy changes, each issue we open and want to start Toggl track for, we need to click the Proceed to App button to confirm that we acknowledge Toggl API usage.
If we need to click this button once, that would be okay, we we now need to click this button for EVERY issue we open or refresh. This can be like 20-30 times a day, which is ridiculous!!
We use Google Chrome on Macbook, but in Safari we have the same problem.
The appears in Jira in the side panel where the Toggle integration section is. Normally, we could start a time track from there for the issue we are working on, but now we need to click Proceed every time
Thanks for that! That is actually controlled by the integration developer, so we don’t have any control over that message or process. I’d recommend getting in touch with them for more info!
The Toggle integration that we were using was not from Toggle itself, but from Appfire. Toggle does not support this integration. I also contacted Appfire and they responded that this is expected behaviour from the integration. So in other words, this is unworkable. I am now testing with the Jira integration from Toggle, but this is also not working very well for us. So we are now looking at other options, because no one seems to care about the user experience that this change causes.
Hi Meel0007, thanks for info. I think problem started when Toggl changed their api usage limits, so they should feel responsible for that
I have researched options in Jira cloud (which we use) and it seems there is no way to turn off api usage limit, so we might as well look for other time tracker which is better integrated with jira.
