Using Toggl in Company

Hello,

I have a question. I use Toggl to track my productive working hours, but I work for a company that does not use Toggl.

If I use Toggl to record the hours I work and then invoice those hours to the company I work for, does this create any obligation for the company to pay for Toggl? More specifically, could this result in any legal or financial liability for the company toward Toggl?

I only use the free version of Toggl. I do not use any paid features, nor do I have any integrations or shared workspaces with other team members.

Thank you for your clarification.

Great question! The short answer is no, using Toggl personally to track your hours and then invoicing a client or employer does not create any obligation or liability for that company toward Toggl.

Since you are the one using Toggl, the relationship is between you and Toggl only. The company you work for is simply receiving an invoice from you, and how you generated those numbers is your own business. They are not using Toggl themselves, so they have no account, agreement, or financial relationship with Toggl.

As long as you are on the free plan and working within its limits, you are all set and there is nothing to worry about on either side.
