Win11 toggl app : Can't assign a project to a pomodoro while running

Hi,
I updated the windows 11 toggl desktop app a couple of days ago.

Before that i was able to assign a project to a pomodoro while it was running ( maybe also was i able to assign project even before launching the pomodoro ).
Since i updated, it is not possible to do so.

I have found unconvenients workarounds :

  1. wait till the pomodo ends to assign a project by leaving the pomodoro tab and going to the list tab ( which i can easily forget to do as i was i focussing on something else, which is the point of a pomodoro )
  2. I am trying to use web app or or phone app to label the pomodoro that was launched with the destop app a) with a project name and b) as it is running. Unfortunately it seems to create other problems ( and it is unconvenient )

does anyone know how to assign a project to a pomodoro within the desktop app before running the pomodoro or as it is running ?

Thank you.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out! I understand how important it is to be able to assign a project while a Pomodoro is running—especially when you’re in the flow and don’t want to interrupt your focus. :toggl-heart:

I checked with our team, and we haven’t seen this issue reported yet. To help us investigate further, could you provide a bit more detail? Specifically:

  1. Your Toggl Track Desktop App version
  2. A short screen recording demonstrating the issue (if possible). This would help us understand what’s happening on your end.

Once we have more details, we can dig deeper and see if there’s a fix or workaround for you. Let me know, and we’ll be happy to assist! :toggl-cheers:

I installed the software yesterday and ran into the same issue. Turned out that the fields are hidden behind the play-button in the top right. Even after discovering this, I was still made unsure by the big play/stop button which acts as its own timer separate from the Pomodoro timer, but entering the info and clicking on “start session” categorizes the session correctly.

I don’t know if you have a separate bug or if you just ran into the same issue as I, but I thought this might help if anyone else find this thread when trying to figure out how the Pomodoro timer works in the Windows application.

Hi Marie,

Thank you for your message.

My version is 10.10.3 ( 64 bits )

I sent the recording by email by replying to the thread by email, did you get it ? There is no way to upload a video through this community forum as far as i know. Please note that i was previously ( before updating to the 10.10.3 version ) able to assign a project and a description to the pomodoro as it was running.

Thanks,

Nicholas
