Working with tasks across timeline and timer, planned and estimated time

Toggl 2.0

I’m a happy Track customer for many years and our 25 people consultancy is currently trying out Toggl 2.0 to see if we can reduces the system landscape and harvest the joint tracking and planning model. We’re currently using Resource Guru for our, very basic, planning.

Unfortunately I find the planning in Toggl extremely confusing and unintuitive, and what I cant seem to find is a good guide on how capacity planning was meant to work in Toggl 2.0. It seems like there is meant to be a coherence across Projects, Tasks, TImeline, and Planned, Estimated and Logged time in the timer but it seems way to easy to break everything if I for example copy a task. Repeating tasks is a weird chapter in it self in relation to estimates.

Can anyone share share a guide to how they work with Capacity Planning and maybe some tips and tricks working with task estimates and planning in the individual user level.

I really want to be positive about Toggl 2.0 but the confusion around this is quite the concern right now.

Best,
Morten

Well, after quite a bit of experimenting I think I found how this was intended to work. At least it makes more sense now.

Still, it would be really great with a tutorial or guide to get new users started.
