You’ve been using Toggl Plan – help shape Toggl Focus into an upgrade in every way

Would you feel confident fully switching from Toggl Plan?

Yes. It does, in fact, replace multiple applications for me. Not just Toggl Plan.

Toggl Focus is a great blend of Toggl Track, Project Management tools and Task Tracking tools (Todoist, in my case).

Toggl Focus centralizes those 3 applications, I think perhaps this should have been a new addition as opposed to a Toggl Plan replacement.

That being said, I love Toggl Focus and I’ve been using it consistently. I don’t want to see it go away.

I think more granular natural word processing for dates and times when creating a task would be great. A native application would also be great.

Removing the assigned role for solo users in the board views as well.

Keep me up to speed if you find one. I’m now trying Float but so far all the tools i tries are far too complex.

Hi, We just got an e-mail from Rumi (dated november 17th) that mid december we will get directly redirected to toggl focus! That’s not only way to fast because we have not found a alternative yet, but also mid christmas season when we are stuffed with work that needs to be done! HELLUP!1

Compared to Track & Plan, Focus is missing the ability to archive projects - this would be really useful to keep things manageable when you get through a large number of projects.

Hi @marelle, Toggl Plan will remain available for the time being, so you can continue using it as you do currently. Here is how you can switch Toggl Plan back as your default planning tool when you are redirected. If you do that, you won’t be logged in to Toggl Focus when accessing Toggl Plan after.

Like many users above, I unfortunately have to say that this is anything but an upgrade for me. As a former Teamweek user, I’ve always appreciated the simplicity and ease of the tool, and I’ve used it that way for years with great satisfaction. We never felt anything was missing in terms of options or features.

The new UX may have grown more mature, but at the same time it has also become incredibly complex and offers far less (quick) overview and clarity. It feels fiddly, technical, and even a bit dull. Unfortunately, for me this would mean I’ll have to start looking for another tool :frowning:

Hi Rumi,

We see a pop up now that asks us to redirect or not, we continue to use toggl plan as focus is not an option for us, but now we have to click through the pop-up every couple of minutes!

To say the least we are not happy with this

We desperately need a working planningbord back as toggl plan gave us that!

Hey @marelle – this shouldn’t happen if you’ve selected to stay in Toggl Plan. Check if in Toggl Focus, you’ve chosen to switch back to Plan. This is how you can do it – doing this should stop the banner from popping up.

Hi Rasa,

I can’t seem to find where i can do that in focus?

So it doesn’t work. It is switched off in Focus, but we keep getting the pop-up.

I think most important thing that hold us from switching from Plan to Focus is that we use segments as defining seperate projects. Segments are gone in Focus.

Still on screen, when we click on to stay in PLan it pops up again after 2-3 minutes.

Hi @marelle, I asked our devs why the pop-up keeps appearing every 2-3 minutes after switching back to using Toggl Plan as your default tool. Will share an update when I hear back!

As for segments, Tags in Toggl Focus work the same way - maybe you could give it a go, I’m happy to walk you through how to set this up in a call. Here is our booking link.

Hey @marelle, here is how to fix this quickly, and we’ll look into why this quirk is happening:

  1. As the Toggl Plan Owner, go to focus.toggl.com, open Settings and set Toggl Focus as your default tool
  2. Refresh
  3. Go to settings and again mark Toggl Plan as your default tool

This should fix the pop-up appearing every couple of minutes

Why have you removed right clicking on tasks and the quick duplication function by holding Ctrl? Such strange choices. Also, even though now you can click in the calendar to add a new task, you can’t assign it to a Task without then having to click again on the task. Why not just have the full task open when clicking into the calendar like on Plan?

When are we being forced to swap over to this?

Hi Rumi,

I think it worked! We don’t see the pop-up anymore. As for testing in Focus (with tags/ segments etc): We are using toggl in Production, therefore it is not easy for me (it’s a small company) to test with Focus! You don’t have a testing environment?

Are there any plans to be able to add a comment on tickets? I’m very surprised that this isn’t included already since it was in toggl plan and it may make me switch to another tool if it’s not sorted soon.

Hi Toggl team,

Quick question, as a Toggl Plan user: is there a clear timeline for discontinuing Toggl Plan, or is there still a chance it will remain available?

Toggl Plan is powerful because it’s simple. Toggl Focus feels like a much more complex tool that introduces an entirely different way of working. To put it simply: Toggl Plan is a bike – lightweight and efficient. Toggl Focus feels like being asked to switch to a truck, powerful, but far more complex than what we need.

Some clarity on the roadmap would be greatly appreciated. :folded_hands:

Hi @Chris1, both right click actions and quick duplication have been implemented in Toggl Focus. I’ve shared your feedback on the task opening automatically when you create it.

We won’t force you to switch to Toggl Focus anytime soon, feel free to continue using Toggl Plan. Appreciate you taking the time to share feedback!

Hey @marelle, you can create a new account to test things out in a separate workspace, if that would work. Just log out of your current account and sign up at focus.toggl.com.
