Your first feedback about Toggl Focus

Hi! The tool is looking great — thank you so much for your work! I have some feedback and a couple of questions I wanted to share. I’m a long-time Toggl Track user but only started using Toggl Focus a few days ago, so it’s possible I’m still missing something. In that case, apologies in advance!

  1. I’m using the “Both” calendar view (which shows both logged and scheduled tasks on the same page). While using this view, I sometimes accidentally assign a task from the “Tasks” pane to the “logged” section (on the left section in each column) instead of the “scheduled” section (on the right section in each column), even though I meant to schedule it. I drag a task from the “Tasks” pane to the calendar, but since the separator of “logged” and “schedule” sections is hard to see (I think it’s too thin and too light in color), it’s really easy to accidentally drag it into the unwanted sections. It’s more so when I’m using this platform in a split window (so the window size that I’m working with Toggle Focus is half the size of the full screen). In those cases, it seems the system doesn’t let me delete logged entries without deleting the task itself. Basically there’s only one option to delete the logged entries and that’s “delete the task”, which appears when I click the vertical three dot line in the top right corner of the logged entries. When I click this “delete the task” option, it removes the entire task from the Tasks pain. There are cases where I want to delete only the logged entry, not the task itself. Is there a way to do this? I hope I’m explaining the issue clearly enough to make sense.
  2. Is there a way to sync Toggl Track data with Toggl Focus? I know there’s an “import data” option in Toggl Focus, but it only imports Projects. Ideally, I’d like to sync all recorded data from Toggl Track to Toggl Focus for better management. Since it’s still 2025, I’d like to see all my 2025 data in one place, and right now Toggl Track and Toggl Focus feel like completely separate platforms.

Hey @Sayuri_Ishiwata, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback, I’ll share it with our team!

To delete a time log, you can right-click on it from the My Time view and click on “Delete time log” or open the task and select the same option:

We will be making improvements on the Import functionality in the near future, so please stay tuned for updates.

Hi @Chris1, thanks for reporting, this should now be fixed!

@Rumi - any update on fixing the reports? Currently experiencing (at least) 3 problems -

  • a significant number of entries classed as “Without client” despite every project/task having a client assigned
  • the occasional task showing as no project, even though it is clearly assigned to a project
  • Reports seem to lag 2.5 days before showing all time entries.

Considering this is now a paid for platform the reporting should be working accurately and reliably.

And again I’d like to ask for project archiving to be implemented

Martin

Hi Martin, I will send you a direct message to ask for your workspace and user details to be able to understand the issue better

Thanks Rumi; working as expected now.

Hi,

What I really need are improvements to the Export functionality of logged time. This is the CSV Export function of the Reports menu.

For billing purposes, I need the each logged time entry (not just a summary), including at least the date and duration. Ideally, the export would also include start/stop date/time data.

As it works now, I cannot use Focus because I will not manually re-enter all my project, task, and time information into Toggl Track nor my billing software. So, I’ll stick with Toggle Track because Toggle Focus does allow the level of detail I require.

If an update to the CSV Export feature is planned, might you have an implementation date that you can share?

Hi, I would really appreciate Widgets for the IOS App which allow me to view and log my tasks from the homescreen.

Hi @KevinP, this will be part of the Detailed Report, which our team will be working on early next year - so stay tuned.

Thanks @samuelrd28, shared this with the team

Really good in general. Need the ability to edit time entry if I leave a timer running. If there’s a way to do it, it’s not very obvious

Edit I found how to do it. I think where it’s located inside the the task is good. And I see now how to do it on the timer’s page as well which is where I wanted to do it. Perhaps the initial default for view should be “Both” which will make it easier when first using the tool to see your time entries here

Hi, I’ve been a long-time Toggl Track user. I’m struggling to understand why there isn’t live sync with Track. Is this intended more as a “Track 2.0” that we would need to move our team to?

For context, we already have a team actively working in Track. While Focus could be a good idea, I’m having difficulty seeing how it would work seamlessly for us unless there is live synchronization, or unless we fully migrate to Focus.

Thanks.

I’m also struggling with this. I need features like billable hours, profitability etc. What I like about Focus is the ability to track my time in a more fine grained way with subtasks and descriptions for tasks so I have a much more detailed view of the work I did for the client. Currently it looks like I’ll need both but there is no integration between them besides the import from Track into Focus or CSV. If Focus gets the Track features that would be great but if they are going to be two different products going forward can we get two way sync?

Hi,

Thanks for the app and for this great community!

I’ve been using Focus for a couple of months and have encountered some issues. Maybe someone has ideas how to solve them.

I’ve used Toggl Track a few times in the past. I also tried Toggl Plan but didn’t fully dive into it. When I finally needed a project management tool, I came back to Toggl Plan which was in transition to Focus, so I switched to it from the beginning. I love it!

Some issues I noticed:

  • Timeline view: weekends are preset to include Saturdays and Sundays. But if I turn that off, they disappear completely from the view. This happens even though my settings have the week starting on Sunday.
  • 5-day view shows Mon-Fr by default, instead of the next 5 days, as 3-day does.
  • “Unarchive tasks” didn’t work.
  • I’ve noticed a date error in the Android app. When I set a ‘From-To’ range for a new task, the calendar shifts by one day (see screenshot).

Something that I would be happy to hear how to solve:

  • I imported several projects from Toggl Plan that I no longer need active. I don’t need them now and want to archive them. But don’t see this option for projects, only delete them completely.
  • If I don’t explicitly assign a task, it doesn’t appear in the Task pane in My Time view. Since I use Focus alone it’s annoying that I still need to assign every task. I didn’t find how to set default asignee or display all the task on the pane.
  • I have my account registered on my personal email and added a work email as a member. But everything became split or filtered. How can I disable member-based filtering and splitting?
  • I love the logged periods feature in the card view! It would be great if you can add an option to display logged periods in reverse chronological order, so that having the newest entries at the top.
  • Is there a way to rearrange subtasks between parent tasks?
  • All tasks in My time view are displayed as a plain list. It would be helpful to have an option to group or arrange them by parent task or project.

Sorry, I just noticed the reply to my feedback. It looks like the issue was resolved; I can see the subtasks now. When I provided the feedback, I couldn’t see the subtasks anywhere, not even the parent task’s details. After providing the feedback, I went back to solely using Track; at the time Focus wasn’t useable for my needs. Thanks for the follow up!
