Add a delay to the auto-tracker

The auto-tracker notifications are great but they fire a bit too quickly. It seems to fire basically immediately when I switch to a window containing a keyword.

This is annoying because I’m often switching between windows to get to the project I want to work on next. E.g. I want to project on project Y, but I briefly see project X first, and auto-tracker fires for project X.

For me it’d be better if there were a 30 second delay. If I’ve spent 30+ seconds with a single keyword visible, chances are I’m properly getting into a project.

@Peter_Hartree are you using the Track macOS app or the Track app for Windows? I’m asking because the Windows app does support a delay setting:

We hope to match these settings between the apps in the future.

I’m using the Mac app. Yes, it’d be wonderful if you could add this to the Mac app.

For now I’m finding this sufficiently annoying that I’ve just disabled the auto-tracker feature, even though I really like it when it works…

Another case in which it keeps pinging me: when my open tabs look like this, and I’m going through reading and closing stuff.

@Peter_Hartree Thanks for confirming - also, thanks for sharing that use case. I can see how that can be disturbing. We are working internally on creating a more focused environment for our users with less disturbance. I’ve shared this with the Mac team on our end, and I hope we will be able to meet your needs better in the future.
