I don’t know if anyone else has run into this, but a LONG time ago (maybe a year or two) two of my tags all of the sudden popped up on my Mac desktop app in quotes. They are duplicates, the same tags appear without quotes farther down the list. But when I look at my list of tags in the browser, they are only listed once and do not have quotes. I have just been ignoring them all this time cause I can’t figure out how to clean them up. But they do annoy me, so if anyone has a fix for how I can remove them, I’d appreciate it!
Hey Kat,
Thanks so much for reporting this! We are aware and working on the fix. We will update you once it is fixed.
Hi Kat,
Thank you so much for the wait on this! I just wanted to share a quick update regarding your issue with tags. Our team has issued a fix that should address the majority of users who are experiencing this issue!
To ensure you get the fix in place, please note down any unsynced entries that may currently be present, then refresh your browser. For some users that find that this hasn’t worked, clearing your browser cache and cookies may help as well.
Please note that, in our efforts to fix this bug, there is a chance that a previous UI glitch may still be present where adding tags to an entry may cause the tag dropdown menu to not show the selected tags at the top of the list (as is our standard practice). Regardless of this, clicking outside of the tag dropdown should show that the tags have still been attached successfully to the entry itself, as the tag names should appear in their proper place to the right (or underneath, if in Calendar mode) of the time entry description. This UI glitch is something we are still working on, but wanted to ensure that you were aware that the more pressing tag issues have now been cleared.
Thank you once again for your patience while we worked on this!
It’s never been an issue on my browser. The browser is fine. It’s an issue with the Toggl desktop app for Mac. And I am on the current version.
Hey Kat,
Can you please ensure all time entries are synced to the server by comparing the desktop app to the webapp?
Once you’re happy they’re all showing please log out and log back into the desktop app. This will clear the cache and should remove the duplicate tags.
If this doesn’t make any difference please let us know
