Is there an estimate on when the limit fix will be live for all existing users? Hoping we can get a reset for our team’s organization in the meantime, too.
Likewise! We rely on the Toggle reports and have done so for a number of years. As it often takes 3 or 4 changes of setting to get to the report you want, 30 views gets you nowhere! Without the reports we have been used to, Toggle isn’t a lot of use to us! It’s good to see that you are responding supportively ![]()
Hi, @Support !
I, too, been affected by this behavior. Please consider removing my Report view limit.
Having used Toggl for years and organized my flows around it, it would be a pity to have to move away and start learning something new.
The Premium price is unjustified solely for it, as I would not use any other Premium feature.
As it stands, I can no longer use the reports to see where my time is going, not to mention the thousands of hours on record. I know many of my colleagues would also move away, because this platform was “recommended” to them (as in, basically imposed) and now the company won’t pay for dozens of Premium accounts.
The view count algorithm also needs some tweaking. Limiting the Report generation rather than the number of downloadable reports sounds absurd to me, but if that’s how it’s going to be, perhaps use as a count up each full page refresh (either with session- or time-based cookies).
We sometimes have to delete from the Report View the time entries where we started a timer and soon stopped it for some reason, such a mislabeled timer. Those few-second entries pollute the view and need to be removed. As it is, every time we clean up an entry from a filter, forgot to add a project, remove an incorrect tag or do some other minor action, a credit is debited.
Thank you for making this tool, and for the opportunity.
Hi everyone,
If you are looking to recover your data which is currently locked behind Toggl’s new paywall, here is an email template that you can use to request your data under GDPR policies:
Subject: Formal Subject Access Request (SAR) – [Your Full Name]
Dear Data Protection Officer,
I am writing to formally request a copy of my personal data held by Toggl, as permitted under Article 15 (Right of Access) and Article 20 (Right to Data Portability) of the GDPR.
I am a user of Toggl Track associated with the email address: [Insert your account email here].
Specifically, I am requesting a complete export of:
-
All my time-tracking entries (including descriptions, projects, clients, start/stop times, and durations).
-
Any associated project or tag data linked to my user profile.
-
Any other personal data held in my account profile.
I note that the “Export” functionality within the user interface is currently restricted to paid subscribers. However, under Article 12(5) of the GDPR, information and actions taken under Articles 15 and 20 must be provided free of charge. While I understand that automated reporting tools may be a paid feature of your service, my legal right to a copy of my personal data in a structured, machine-readable format (such as CSV or JSON) cannot be contingent upon a paid subscription.
Please provide this data within the statutory one-month timeframe. If you require any further information to verify my identity, please let me know as soon as possible.
I look forward to receiving my data.
Kind regards,
[Your Name]
[Your Phone Number - optional]
@Support In consideration of the GDPR regulations, please consider making your XLS/CSV export feature accessible on free plans.
Please also note that many of the features you have listed under the free plan are functionally inaccessible when a user is locked out of the reports home screen, including:
- Create Invoices
- Summary Detailed, Workload reports access
- PDF exports
Thank you for addressing these bugs - I look forward to continuing to use and recommend Toggl after they are addressed!
It seems to me this is not only impacting new users. I’ve been using Toggl for years so not a new user. Still I’m limited by the views. Is this a bug or is this intentional? If this measure stays in place I’m afaid we’ll have to look for an alternative.
Ah the same has happened for me and its such an important part of using Toggl for me, I will have to consider using another system if I cant have my unlimited reports
Same problem. Please fix this a.s.a.p. I need the reports to communicate project costs and status with my cliënts. And please reset my account for now.
We want to reiterate our apologies for this issue.
To be clear: the 30 report view limit was introduced for new organisations only and should not have affected older organisations on Free subscription plan. This was a bug on our end, and we are sorry for the frustration it has caused.
Our team is working on a fix which we expect to release later this week. In the meantime, we have gone ahead and manually reset the report quota for everyone who has posted in this thread, so you should all have full access to your reports again right away.
We will update this thread once the fix is live!
It was really confusing. I can’t even see how many views are left.
I’ve been using the free plan for about half a year for personal use. And I really like it.
I wouldn’t mind a personal plan, say $1.99 per month, that would allow for unlimited use of the basic functionality.
Hi @Support,
I’m also affected by this issue. I’ve been using Toggl Track on the Free plan for personal time tracking, and I’ve now hit the 30-view report limit — even though I understand this should only apply to new users.
Could you please reset the quota on my account as well?
Thank you!
We have two Free accounts for my company and have been using the same accounts for years and suddenly got the Reports Limit Error for one of the accounts this week, but no issues on the other account. How can we get the issue resolved?
Same issue. Certainly haven’t viewed any reports 30 times, but what an awful restriction, new users or not. Limit export, maybe, for new users, but limiting views? and in such a weird and broken way? No. Taking away features from existing users is generally not a good practice. Please lift the restriction on my account as soon as possible so I can see my time @support. Otherwise the app is useless.
@support Will you please reset our quota as well? We’d be so appreciate! Long-time users. We have billing due to the federal government with fines to be implemented for being late, so this was an unwelcome surprise. Greatly appreciate your assistance.
Very impressed to see personal replies. Go Toggl!
We’ve gone ahead and reset the report view quota for you too. We’ll update this thread as soon as the fix is live and the limit is no longer affecting existing users.
I still have the limit. I’ve been using Toggl for MANY YEARS and it’s been my go-to referral for everyone, but this one really took me by surprise. Please let me know if you can not reset my report views. I’m just a one-woman shop, you know? Thanks.
Thanks to the Toggl team for your kind response. ![]()
By the way, is there any update regarding this question (the second one)?
I fully agree with the points raised in the linked thread:
If reverting to unlimited report views for new Free plan users really isn’t possible, then please at least consider offering a very affordable personal plan, around $1 per month, that gives unlimited report views.
Even so, I still hope that this feature will eventually be available again for Free plan users.
I’m asking this because I genuinely want more people around me to be able to manage their time better with Toggl.
It feels a bit sad to recommend a tool I really like, but then have to warn them that they’ll quickly hit a limit on one of the most important features: reports view.
Exactly, I have been using Toggl for close to two years now and was really surprised that report views were not being limited, without communication. 30 views, that seemed to deplete very quickly whenever I even so much as reloaded my page, makes using Toggl Track kind of unusable for me for my personal needs
Thank you for the update and for resetting the views in the meantime. But if you plan to implement this for anyone, even new organizations, don’t - it is terrible. One view took 8 tokens. It doesn’t make sense. Find a different way to limit newer users, the whole token thing does not work.
It’s great to know that older users still get unlimited report views on Free plan. However, it seems I’m hitting a limitation on my account despite being a long-time user. Could you please help me look into this? I’ve been using Toggl Track for a few years for personal time tracking, and the reporting feature is essential to how I manage my time.
Also, I’ve been recommending Toggl Track to my friends quite a bit lately! I really hope you’ll consider keeping the report feature unlimited for new users as well. It’s such a helpful tool for time management, and I’d love for others to have the same great experience I’ve had since I started using it.
Thank you!
