Have been using for years
Report > Export > CSV (now legacy) to import in an excel worksheet
Last time it worked as expected was beginning of August 2026.
“hh:mm:ss” / “mm:ss min” if under an hour
Today I find the format changed to
“mmm:ss min”
..when importing into excel.
Is this a bug or feature? 
Starting March 2021 there was a period of time when I had a similar behaviour and my workaround was manually inserting an auxiliary column in my excel… and at some point (around June 2024) it went away again… will this go away this time as well?

Unfortunately I don’t have specific information about a recent change to the Duration column format in the legacy CSV export, so I can’t confirm whether this is an intentional change or a bug.
What I can say is that the workaround you already know about, adding an auxiliary column in Excel to reformat the duration values, is currently the main option available to you while this persists. The Toggl Track CSV Import Guide and Detailed Report export are the tools available for working with exported data, but there are no built-in format options you can toggle to control how Duration is expressed in the export.
Given your history with this going away on its own before, it is possible this could resolve itself, but I cannot make any promises on that front.
I will make sure to pass this along to the product team as it is clearly affecting a workflow you have relied on for a long time, and the inconsistency in format is a real pain point worth flagging.

Have been exploring the report-export-options today and found out, that if I use this:
Report - detailed - export - csv [without legacy!]
the csv file provides the expected format:
When using:
Report - detailed - export - csv (legacy)
the csv file provides this format:
So there is definitly a difference/change on the export with “CSV (Legacy)”.
I reordered the columns in “Reports” to get the expected sequence in the csv and will use “export - csv (no legacy)” going forward.
Maybe my detailed description will help another long time user who runs into the same “duration” format change.
