After updating to Version 10.15.0 (2986), the app icon in the macOS Tahoe dock no longer indicates the status of the timer. Previously, the icon would stay grey when the timer was not running. This is a significant change for us, as we heavily relied on this functionality. Without it, our staff frequently forgets to log their time in the Toggl timer.
Could you please let me know why this functionality was removed, or if its removal was accidental?
This functionality is no longer available on app version 10.15.0. Our development team had to adapt to these OS-level changes to ensure the app remains compatible and stable on the latest macOS version.
As a replacement, we recommend turning on the “Show timer badge” setting (as shown in the screenshot). This will display the duration of the running time entry as a badge on the dock icon, which should help your staff remember when the timer is running.
You can find this setting in: General → Dock → Show timer badge
I understand this isn’t quite the same as the previous grey/coloured icon indicator, but the timer badge should still provide a visual reminder when time tracking is active.
