Heya Antonio! When this happens, try choosing the refresh option in the Mac app to see if that stops the timer on its own.
Sorry, Support, but what do you mean exactly by “choosing the refresh option”?
I just got back to my workstation and it’s happening now. I’m looking at my iOS app and there’s no timer running and the macOS app is asking me this:
One thing that just happened, I opened the timer running and opened the settings to see if I could find that “refresh option”, found nothing of course, but when I closed the settings dialog (by clicking on the red close button in the window) the timer stopped and the idle time notification dialog also closed.
So it seems that the macOS app is not polling the server to update the timer state unless some types of events occurs, like closing the settings panel.
Hi Antonio! It will be the “Sync” option in the menubar; just choose Account>Sync or use the key command CMND+R.
I’m having the same issue. Eventually, I realized anything I do on my MacOS app isn’t syncing to anywhere else. I did just start using Toggl a few days ago, so maybe I am missing something.
I’ve tried Account → Sync (cmd+R) many times. I went into settings and noticed the “Sync local activity” wasn’t checked, so I checked that, then did cmd+R many times.
Nothing works. There is still a red sync icon in the upper right corner of the app, and most entries have a sync icon next to them. I do notice that most of my entries synced the first day I used the app. Any ideas on how to fix MacOS app syncing?
I’m afraid of losing my data, since I’ve used the MacOS app to track time most of the time, so that data exists there and nowhere else.
Heya! Can you hover over the red icon on one of the unsynced entries and let me know what (if any) error message appears?
I woke up today and everything was properly synced. No more sync icons anywhere. I have no idea why. I’m just glad it’s working.
Thank you for replying. If the issue appears again, I will reply here.
Glad to hear it’s working for you; thank you!
