Currently, Toggl allows us to organize work under Clients > Projects, but there’s no built-in way to categorize projects beyond their name. As a result, we’re forced to embed key project details into the name using special characters, making filtering and reporting inefficient.
We need custom fields at the project level, such as:
- Project Type (e.g., one of five standardized project categories)
- Primary Consultant (internal project lead or manager)
- Sales Person (who sold the project, for revenue tracking)
- Billing Cadence (weekly vs. monthly)
The ability to filter and generate reports based on these fields would be a game-changer, allowing us to quickly analyze sales performance, project distribution, and financial trends.
This enhancement would drastically improve Toggl’s usability for businesses managing multiple project types and teams. Please consider adding custom project-level fields with filtering and reporting capabilities to streamline workflows and improve data-driven decision-making!
