Filtering Reports

Use Filters to find relevant data.

Toggl Track reports can be filtered by User, Client, Project, Task, Tag, Billable flag and Description. Changes made to individual filters will be applied as soon as you click outside of the filter field. To generate the report, click outside the dropdown box.

Filtering Features and Suggestions

  • Do not set any filters if you want to show all the available data.

  • Selecting a client inside the Client filter will automatically select all projects related to that client. Do not interact with the Client filter unless you are creating a report for all projects associated with that client.

  • Selecting a project inside the Project filter will cause the Task filter to only show tasks related to that project.

  • You may select up to 1000 items in total across all of the filters.

  • By default, reports will show you data from active and archived projects, you can change this by selecting all active projects if you only wish to see data from those projects.

Filtering Projects

Note: Premium plans will also see an Audit filter on their Detailed Report.

Hi @Veljko ,

I looked up the filtering option on your website as well, but the functionality has been changed recently (I think it was around 8 weeks ago)

Now, when I create a project, I get another filter option named “My Projects”. Because we have a lot of projects within our organization (we’re a software development agency) it’s not user friendly.
I can’t find any setting (I hope there is one) to disable this option.

Next to this problem, for as far as I know (and can find) there are/were no release notes and/or roadmap of the application in general. So sometimes (like this one) updates get pushed to production without us knowing that suddenly something has changed.

I’m using the webapp!

@RoyvanRingelenstein thank you for this feedback! This change was relatively recently introduced (Oct 3rd, 2023). There was no announcement about the change. I looked into it. It didn’t feel like it would have a major usability impact. There are no settings to disable it as of now.

I shared your feedback with the Product team members and hope to provide you with better options in the future.

This is one of the things we are looking to change with this community. We’re just getting started, but we do want to be more in touch with our users on all fronts, including product changes, no matter how big or small. Thanks for sharing that!

All of our filters are empty in the Reports tab. No Clients, no Projects etc. are found. This is a recent development. Please advise how to fix, we need this for billing. Thanks.

Hi there!

This should be resolved by the time I post this reply. Can you confirm?

Yep, fixed - thanks!
