I noticed today in my Activity Monitor that Toggl is using over 4 Gigs of memory on my iMac.
Nothing else on my computer comes close to 4Gigs (next highest is 1.37Gigs), which made me curious whether something was amiss. I’ve never checked before so I can’t say whether this is what it’s always been or if it has changed.
Is this a normal amount of memory for Toggl to use?
Thank you for any insights!
Thanks for checking on this. High memory usage can sometimes happen with desktop applications, and there are a few things you can try to improve performance:
First, try restarting the Toggl desktop app. This often clears up memory usage issues.
If the high memory usage persists after restarting, you might want to check if you have a very large number of time entries loaded, as this can impact performance. If that’s the case, you could try archiving older projects or entries to reduce the data the app needs to manage.
You could also try reinstalling the Toggl desktop app to ensure you have a clean installation without any corrupted data.
If you continue to see this level of memory usage after trying these steps, there may be something specific about your setup that’s causing it, and it would be worth investigating further with the technical team.
